2008 Release Schedules for New England Rivers

This information has been obtained directly from authorities controlling each release. It is updated on a regular basis to keep you informed of release cancellations or changes. Check back before traveling!

It must be understood that this information does not guarantee a specific flow in the river. River flow is subject to change without notice due to current availability of water, unanticipated weather and water conditions, equipment failure, as well as other unforeseeable causes. It is your responsibility to determine that the river flow is suitable for your intended use prior to putting on the river. It is your responsibility to monitor conditions while on the river for flow changes which might make the river unsuitable for your use.

Monroe Bridge (#5 Bypass) – Site code 255122

TransCanada Hydro Northeast, Inc

32 scheduled releases. Friday releases are for 4 hours beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday releases last 5 hours and begin at 10 a.m. Sunday releases are 4 hours beginning at 10 a.m. Flows alternate among 900, 1000, and 1100 cfs (see flow schedule below site codes).

PLEASE NOTE: There are structural problems 
with the bridge spanning the Deerfield by the Deerfield #5 Dam. The Town of Monroe and Town of Rowe will effectively close the bridge to all traffic tomorrow (4/30/08) morning. Repairs of this structure will take about 8 to 10 weeks to complete.

The two towns 
will do their best to install signage about the closure at alternate routes.

You need to make alternate travel plans if your route uses the Monroe Bridge.
